Pray Or We Die – Leonard Ravenhill

No man is greater than his prayer life. The pastor who is not praying is playing; the people who are not praying are straying. Poverty-stricken as the Church is today in many things, she is most stricken here, in the place of prayer. In the matter of New Testament, Spirit-inspired, hell-shaking, world-breaking prayer, never has so much been left to so few. For this kind of prayer there is no substitute. We do it – or we die!

Don’t build the Ark wider but go Deeper – Leonard Ravenhill

Every magazine I pick up now, Christian magazine, is how to make your church grow. I’m looking for one that says how to take your church deeper! Somebody said to a preacher, “You’ve the biggest church in… How big is your church?” He answered, “Three miles wide and an inch deep”. I think that’s true of a lot of them. Three miles wide and an inch deep. And while it’s humorous, it’s tragic! Are we going to change the style? Are we going to keep steadying the ark? Are we going to say, “No, no, no. We are not going any further like this. We are not going with this cart you’ve got it on. We are going to do it God’s way.”

No Longer Can You Sing – Leonard Ravenhill

No longer can you sing the good old “the Boat of Zion is sailing along” She’s either stuck on a mud bank or sinking pretty rapidly and the only way to get her going again according to some people, it isn’t too serious. All we have to do is repaint the ship… and that will get us out for it will be attractive.

Knowing God – Leonard Ravenhill

Again I say, There is all the difference in the world between knowing the Word of God and knowing the God of the Word.
