Faith

Faith sees the invisible, believes the unbelievable, and receives the impossible.

I have been a Christian for over fifty years, but I have never heard God’s voice so clearly as in these days. When the world is at peace, not very many people diligently seek God. Only at such times as these of persecution and disorder by the hands of Satan do believers awaken in the faith.

No, it is so good to know that God never makes a mistake. Once we will understand that when we are in heaven, but now already we can know very much from the Word of God. This book shows us that God has no problems with the world and with your and my life. God has no problems, only plans. There is never panic in heaven. And the thing that you and I must do is look in the right direction. Look unto Jesus.

On that dear Cross my soul hangs all her confidence—not a rag anywhere else! … This is an essential mark of a Christian, that he sees Jesus with the simple faith that relies alone upon Him. Dear Hearer, do you in this respect see Jesus? If so, rest assured that where He is in His Glory, you shall shortly be! There is life in that look! There is more than life present—there is life eternal in a look at Him!

Is it too much to expect our God to do ‘exceedingly abundantly above?’ Can we put a strain on Omnipotence; can we exhaust infinite Love?

…you should be looking out for fresh discovering of the Lord Jesus Christ every moment; you must not build upon your past experiences, you must not build upon a work within you, but always come out of yourselves to the righteousness of Jesus Christ without you; you must be always coming as poor sinners to draw water out of the wells of salvation; you must be forgetting the things that are behind, and be continually pressing forward to the things that are before. My dear friends, you must keep up a tender, close walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.

We rest on Thee, our Shield and our Defender!
We go not forth alone against the foe;
Strong in Thy strength, safe in Thy keeping tender,
We rest on Thee, and in Thy Name we go.

And yet, if it be true that God alone is goodness and joy and love; if it be true that our highest blessedness is in having as much of God as we can; if it be true that Christ has redeemed us wholly for God, and made a life of continual abiding in His presence possible, nothing less ought to satisfy than to be ever breathing this blessed atmosphere, “I wait on Thee.”

However, the Church today, for the most part, moves as the world does; that is to say, they live as if God does not really exist and that no practical input by God into their daily lives is expected by virtue of their believing. What am I saying here? I am saying that those who wear the name of Christ do not themselves believe that there is going to be an existential consequence for their life by virtue of their believing. The fact that they believe does not effectually touch the practicalities of their life … Such things ought not to be!
