Fear – Worry – Anxiety

The Lord Will Provide – Charles Spurgeon

Onward, soldiers of the cross, where Jesus has led the way. The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath you are the everlasting arms. You are not called upon to go a warfare at your own charges, neither are you left alone in the battle: the banner which waves over you bears the soul-assuring motto, “Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord will provide.”

– Charles Spurgeon –

The Heroic Spirit – William Gurnall

Cowards never won heaven. Do not claim that you are begotten of God and have His royal blood running in your veins unless you can prove your lineage by this heroic spirit: to dare to be holy in spite of men and devils.

– William Gurnall –

Perfect Love – Hugh Binning

Perfect love casts out the fear of hell, but perfect love brings in the fear of sin: “Ye that love the Lord, hate evil” Psalm 97:10; and if you hate it, you will fear it, in this state of infirmity and weakness wherein we are.

– Hugh Binning –

The Difference Between Sin in the Wicked and in the Godly – Thomas Watson

There is as much difference between sin in the wicked and sin in the godly—as between poison being in a serpent and poison being in a man. Poison in a serpent is in its natural place and is delightful—but poison in a man’s body is harmful and he uses antidotes to expel it. So sin in a wicked man is delightful, being in its natural place—but sin in a child of God is burdensome and he uses all means to expel it.

Worldliness Kills – JC Ryle

Open transgression of God’s law slays its thousands, but worldliness its tens of thousands.

Burdened Down – David Wilkerson

Many of those who once were so passionately in love with Christ now run about pursuing their own interests. They’re burdened down with stress and problems, chasing after riches and the things of this world.
