Say No to Sin and Yes to Truth – Randy Alcorn

Any concept of grace that makes us feel more comfortable sinning is not biblical grace. God’s grace never encourages us to live in sin, on the contrary, it empowers us to say no to sin and yes to truth.

His Fullness We Have Received – Thomas Watson

“Of his fullness have all we received” (John 1:16). Put a glass under a [faucet] and it receives water out of the [faucet], drop by drop. So those who are united to Christ have the dews and drops of His grace distilling on them.

Believe on Christ – JW Chickering

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3:36 KJV)

“What is it to believe on Christ?” It is, to feel your need of him; to believe that he is able and willing to save you, and to save you now; and to cast yourself unreservedly on his mercy, and trust in him alone for your salvation.

Everyone Was Happy – Richard Wurmbrand

It was strictly forbidden to preach to other prisoners. It was understood that whoever was caught doing this received a severe beating. A number of us decided to pay the price for the privilege of preaching, so we accepted their [the communists’] terms. It was a deal; we preached and they beat us. We were happy preaching. They were happy beating us, so everyone was happy.
