Dependence

Daily Dependence – Charles Spurgeon

The glory that overflows to Christ from our daily dependence is seen in His becoming to us our daily bread. His flesh is meat indeed, his blood is drink indeed (John 6:55), and we must feed upon these continually or die. Eating is not an operation to be performed only once, but it is to be done, throughout life. Likewise, we have to go to Jesus again and again and find sustenance in him as long as life lasts.

The act of praying – Samuel Taylor Coleridge

is the very highest energy of which the human mind is capable; praying, that is, with the total concentration of the faculties. The great mass of worldly men and of learned men are absolutely incapable of prayer

What we Forget – Leonard Ravenhill

Satan fools and feigns, blows and bluffs, and we so often take his threats to heart and forget the “exceeding greatness of God’s power to us.”

Cast our Crowns – Elizabeth Charles

Till amid the hosts of light,
 We in Thee redeemed, complete,
Through Thy cross made pure and white,
Cast our crowns before Thy feet

Christ Teaches Us Only If – DL Moody

Christ is able to teach us. See how He taught the disciples. He never wearied of their learning from Him. So He will teach us if we will only listen to Him

Entire Manhood and Womanhood to Christ – Charles Spurgeon

Oh, Christian men and women, you will not glorify God much unless you really put your strength into the ways of the Lord, and throw your body, soul, and spirit – your entire manhood and womanhood – into the work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Great Power Is Available to us – Goulburn

The greatest old or new testament saints were on a level that is quite within our reach. The same spiritual power that enabled them to become our spiritual heroes, is also available to us.
