Salvation from Hell or Salvation from Sin? – AW Pink

The nature of Christ’s salvation is woefully misrepresented by the present-day evangelist. He announces a Savior from hell rather than a Savior from sin. And that is why so many are fatally deceived, for there are multitudes who wish to escape the Lake of fire who have no desire to be delivered from their carnality and worldliness.

The Fire Must Come From Heaven – William Gurnall

We may search in vain the corridors of our own hearts and the drafty corners of our souls. We will not find a spark upon our hearth, unless it is some strange fire of natural desires, which will not do. No, the fire that thaws the iciness of the heart must come from heaven—a gift from God, who is a “consuming fire.”

The Way to Be Saved – Charles Spurgeon

The way to be saved is simply to trust in what the Son of man did when He became man, and suffered punishment for all those who trust Him. For all His people, Christ was a Substitute. His people are those who trust Him. If you trust Him, he was punished for your sins; and you cannot be punished for them, for God cannot punish sin twice, first in Christ, and then in you. If you trust Jesus, who now liveth at the right hand of God, you are this moment pardoned, and you shall forever be saved.

The Preaching Evangelist – EM Bounds

The evangelist who preaches for eternity is never great on numbers. He is not apt to count hundreds of converts where there is no restitution, no confession, and no glad cry which proclaims, “The lost is found, the dead is made alive again!”
